FAQs

How does a doula work with all the roles in a delivery room?

A doula works with, not against the team supporting the arrival of your baby. A typical delivery involves many important roles to support mama:

  • the nurse - employed by the hospital to support mom during their shift, and follow all hospital procedures and policies

  • the doctor - present to assist in the delivery of a healthy baby and provide medical care for mom and baby

  • the spouse - present to provide emotional support and love to mama

  • the doula - present before, during, and after delivery to provide essential emotional and physical support to mama, as well as be an advocate for her during challenging moments of labor and delivery

What are some other ways my doula can support me?

Do you want pictures that will help you remember the special moments immediately after the birth of your baby? Do you want your husband to be focused on a phone or camera instead of savoring the moments with you? Who in the room can snap a few beautiful pictures of you, your baby, and your husband without you having to ask? Your doula of course!
